Happy Valentine’s Day!

What a productive day it was today for Dad. On Valentine’s Eve, we received a phone call from Saxon’s nanny, Yadi, saying that her son was sick and she had to take him to the doctor the next day…and that she would call us and let us know what time she would be in. Carey called a nanny/babysitting service who was “a little short-staffed” right now.

Since Carey had a full day of conference calls, I knew I had the privelege of taking one for the team. Saxon spent the day hanging out at Dad’s office. Twas quite a busy day for Saxon. She got to meet Allen & Wendy Mitchell, who office in the same building. Claire O’Malley (mom of www.omalleywedding.com) was in town from San Antonio and came by with a huge bag of books she had purchased for Saxon (Thanks, Claire!).

Saxon was in a very happy mood so I decided to snap a few photos (coming soon). Around 2 pm, I began feeling dizzy and realized the breakfast at 0600 hours was a very long time ago. So Saxon and I headed to Pepe y Mito’s Mexican Cafe in Deep Ellum. Despite the best efforts of the waitstaff at Pepe y Mito’s to awaken Saxon by dragging chairs and tables around their polished concrete floor, Saxon slept all the way to the end of my short meal - only jolted out of a nice nap when some moron nice busboy shattered some glasses on the way back to the kitchen. Doh!

By the way, GONE are the days when Saxon could be placed in the center of a blanket, given a couple of toys that would content her for, oh, say, 5 minutes, max. For those keeping score, Saxon is now Mo-Bile, crawling around, exploring everything she can get her hands upon.

We headed back to the office and took a few more pictures, including some pictures of Saxon’s cute, little naked butt (remind me to wash the freshly-peed upon backdrop). Saxon took a very short nap again and woke up hungry as a hippo. No more milk = time to go home. Quite the busy day.

Here are some photos taken last month, when Saxon was 5 months old. You can click the More Photos link below to see, well, more photos. You can even buy them at Flickr if you want ‘em.
