We’ve had a lot of requests to post some photos of Saxon’s nursery online. We wanted to create a space for Saxon that didn’t completely spell B-A-B-Y, a room that she wouldn’t outgrow right away. Wow. What a difficult task it was. Especially considering most baby furniture/decor looks like it was designed by a twelve year old using her “Groovy Barbie Furniture Designer” CD or her “It’s gotta be Pooh” templates.

Crib
Wow. Much harder to find something we liked than we would have imagined. Most American-made cribs are very, very tall - with the top rail typically coming in around the 55″ mark. Well, that’s too freakin’ tall for my short self. Put the mattress on the lowest setting to create the potential for some serious back pain.

We liked two cribs, the Oeuf Crib which i thought had a great concept with the changing table strapped to the top and the overall extremely low profile of the crib. But Carey, liked the Aerial Crib (seen above in our photos) from NurseryWorks. Purchased from the good folks at Baby Bliss here in Dallas.

Paint: RL French Pink - at least 7 or 8 different colors (light blue, green, yellows, pinks) were slopped on the walls in a how-do-ya-like-this-one effort before finding this color.
Dots: WallCandy Arts Multi-Color Dots stickers, yep, they’re removable. Our friend and designer extraordinaire, Leslie Metz created the swoosh on the wall.
