For the past few months, Saxon has been going to the Little Gym, in our neighborhood. She has progressed from the uneven parallel bars to mastering the vault - oh wait, I’m starting to sound like one of those exaggerated proud family Christmas letters…The truth is Saxon has been going to Little Gym to develop/increase her motor skills & balance while getting out to socialize with other kids. Besides that, it’s just lots of darn fun for her.
Saxon started her first class, Bugs (a parent + child program for 4 to 10 month old babies), when she was around 5 months old and just starting to crawl. Many of the other mothers of the baby boy-dominated class were wishful that their little one was already crawling. Carey advised them to be careful for what they wish!
At Little Gym, Carey let Saxon explore during “free time” but did her best to prevent Saxon from climbing or crawling on top of some of the less mobile tots.
These photos show a good range of the types of activities at Little Gym - tumbling, socializing (with her friend Landon), rolling and…graduating. Yes, she “graduated” from Little Gym during a ceremony complete with diplomas and the playing of Pomp & Circumstance. Please. Do kids graduate from everything? How many graduation ceremonies will she have between now and high school? Not to mention college, graduate school, doctorate…
