Last week, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of FOUR MILLION baby floats made by Aqua Leisure. Included in the recall were 15 different products manufactured (made in China, of course) between 2002 and 2008, including our “Deluxe Toddler Racer.”
Since Aqua Leisure states the hazard as: “the leg straps in the seat of the float can tear, causing children to unexpectedly fall into or under the water, posing a risk of drowning,” I think we will do as instructed and get out the knife to “render the product unusable.” I am not optimistic about getting a refund if my attempts to reach their customer service are as unsuccessful as fellow blogger DaddyTypes’.
So, here’s one more reason for buying stuff from Amazon.com. We received an email from Amazon’s customer service telling us about the recall. Had we purchased from a brick/mortar store, chances are slim that we would have ever heard about the recall. Shop Amazon.com for books, DVDs, electronics, groceries, gifts…you get it - just about anything! And click the link at MoseleyWorld and we’ll get a tiny cut.
