Photo Shoot with Saxon 3.17.07

Saxon is quite a modern day Magellan, exploring everything, everywhere. Her favorite activities are climbing (pulling herself up on anything that may or may not support her) and finding all kinds of wonderful objects to taste.

Speaking of taste, Saxon is now sampling all different types of cuisine, nearly all home-cooked. Carrots, squash, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, peas (see previous post) mangoes, honey & peanut butter (just kidding on the last two - don’t freak out) and now chicken and steak. Anyone have some good recipes for yummy meals for almost toothless babies? Please leave a comment if so. More photos here: http://www.flickr.com/gp/58778995@N00/J61LVS

Saxon Playing Outside

We’ve been taking full advantage of the nice weather, since we know the oppressive hellish heats of summer aren’t far away.

March Madness at MoseleyWorld

It’s that time of year again. Yep, the NCAA basketball tourney, aka “March Madness.” It’s time for you to figure out which team will be this year’s Cinderella story and which #1 seed will be the first to fall. It’s only been a year but I bet you already forgot who was last year’s Cinderella media-darling…that would be George Mason. Speaking of forgetting, lots of Kansas Jayhawks would love to forget their beloved Jayhawks losing their first round match-up two years in a row. Ouch! This year Kansas is a top seed and no #1 seed has ever lost to a #16 seed. So it looks like KU might make it into the 2nd round of the tournament this year!

We’ve created a MoseleyWorld group at Yahoo!. Select Join a Group / Private Group. The group number is 75863 and the password is saxon. Yes, you have to create a Yahoo! ID to play, but you probably already have one anyway. Top prize is $1 million - if you get it all perfect.

Yesterday, Saxon turned 7 months old, and I was thinking - gosh, we never take any photographs of her. So we dusted off the camera and took a few snapshots. You can see more and order prints (sign in as a member first) at Flickr.

Saxon at [almost] seven months

This weekend, Saxon will be seven months old. The most-oft heard comment by this new parent is some variation of “enjoy ‘em, they grow up really fast.” We also heard from quite a few people, “enjoy her now, because she’ll be a teenager some day and hate you.” The even more pessimistic (or realistic?) advisor has said, “enjoy her while she’s a baby because she will be two soon.”

Well, I can only attest to the truth of Saxon growing up fast. So you can see how fast, I thought I’d post some very current photographs (taken jump ahead to photographs of Saxon taken yesterday and on Saturday).

hanging out with dad, Saxon is oh-so curious.

Some photographs, taken 3.3.07, of Carey feeding Saxon one of her favorite foods - peas (organic, of course!). We’re putting our pressure cooker we received as a wedding gift to good use fast-cooking carrots, sweet potatoes & peas. Lots of yummy nutritious veggies that have no preservatives and have to taste better than the meals-in-da-jar.

Saxon with Ranger - Part I

Ranger has been quite fascinated with Saxon since day one. Ranger loves to give Saxon “kisses,” which are sloppy licks on Saxon’s hands, ears and face. The admiration is mutual. Saxon coos whenever she spots Ranger. Lately, Saxon really admires Ranger and wants to give some love back by petting him. Well, petting him is a term I would use loosely, since Saxon really just wants to grab a handful of Ranger’s fur, something to which he kindly objects.

Here’s a quick movie, taken 6 weeks ago [1.17.2007] of a Saxon-Ranger interaction. You can see other movies - just click Videos at the top of the page.
