At the end of October, I traveled to San Antonio to photograph a wedding. After spending time with the couple, Erika and Edward, in New York to make their engagement portraits, taking Erika’s bridal portrait in San Antonio and going to the rehearsal dinner as a photographer/guest, I got to know a little more about this couple than I typically do.
The bride’s parents had both recently passed away and I really thought I could feel her range of emotions as she experienced them. I had hoped that I was able to interpret these feeling with my camera and convey them to others. When I received an email message from Erika saying that not only did she think the photographs were wonderful, but my photographs made her cry, I knew I had succeeded.
