Last Sunday, Carey, Saxon and I (and Ranger, too) headed to the piney woods of East Texas to visit my parents, who live in Marshall. As a bonus, Saxon got to meet her Aunt Meredith, who is spending time in Marshall helping my dad with his campaign for the Texas Court of Appeals.

After we created a family portrait to be used for campaign commercials (television ads begin soon - it’s not too late to contribute to the campaign - it all ads up!), we took a few more photos and then relaxed for the afternoon.

A couple of weeks ago, Carey, Saxon and I travelled to Houston for the wedding of our good friends, Kandi and Jordan. After making the long drive from Dallas to Houston, we headed straight to the original Ninfa’s restaurant for the best fajitas anywhere (trust us).

Kandi and Jordan (kandi) planned a beautiful wedding and a fabulous reception. They didn’t miss a single detail and the food served at the seated dinner was oh-so-yummy. Here’s a photo I snapped of Saxon & Carey with the bride + groom.

Kandi and Jordan honeymooned on the Big Island of Hawaii, at the Four Seasons Hualalai, where Carey & I headed after our wedding 4 years ago. They reported it was still incredible.
